PARTA recieves most of its funding from a small one-quarter percent sales tax that was approved by the people of Portage County in 2001. Over 7500 people are registered to ride PARTA's Dial A Ride service. PARTA transports an average of 550 demand response trips and 4800 fixed route passengers per day. PARTA delivers essential services to the Area Agency on Aging, Portage County Board of MRDD, Portage Area Senior Services, Kent State University and the Portage County Department of Jobs & Family Services. The KSU Campus Bus Service is paid for by a contract with Kent State, no funds from the sales tax are used to provide this service. The addition of this contract now enables Portage County residents to connect with service in Akron and Cleveland. PARTA's Ridership:
