Student Employment Opportunities

PARTA/Campus Bus Service is operated almost entirely by Kent State University students while under management by the Portage Area Regional Transportation Authority (PARTA). Many students are employed as bus operators (drivers), chauffeurs, attendants, and supervisors.

All employees are also members of the Campus Bus Club (CBC). This service organization plans trips and other special events for employees, from Halloween and bowling parties to ski trips. Come join in the fun and meet a lot of great people.

It provides an incredible opportunity for students to earn money and gain valuable experience while attending Kent State University. We also have flexible hours that you can schedule around your classes and opportunities for advancement.

Requirements

If you are looking for a challenge and are interested in belonging to a terrific professional community, join the PARTA/Campus Bus Service team! In order to qualify, you must meet the following requirements:

• A registered student of Kent State University

• Enrolled in a minimum of either 6 undergraduate hours or 4 graduate hours

• You can also qualify if you are planning on enrolling next semester

• At least 18 years of age

• Two years of verifiable driving experience

• No more than 2 points on your license and be willing to transfer to an Ohio Commercial Drivers License.

Training is paid and we are always taking applications. You can either stop by our office and fill out an application, fill out our online application,or print this PDF version out, complete it and send it to us. Applications can be completed at our office located at 2000 Summit Rd. (across from Dix Stadium) Monday through Fridays between 8:30am and 4:30pm. Please mail completed applications to:
