passenger in a mobility device getting onDial-A-Ride (DART) is a weekday door-to-door, shared-ride service for residents of Portage County. Transportation is provided countywide in small buses that are furnished with the staff and equipment necessary to transport all residents, including seniors and the disabled to and from their destination.

Scheduling a Dial-A-Ride

Trips are available Monday-Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (except major holidays including: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas).

Beginning July 1, 2018 service hours will change to:

Monday – Friday 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. 
Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

If you are interested in riding, simply call 330-678-1BUS (1287). Schedulers are available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Rides should be booked at least one to three days in advance and are taken on a first come, first serve basis. Click here to download the booking windows.

Countywide service to the Townships is done on certain days of the week, depending on where you live. Please refer to the schedule below to plan ahead your rides and appointments.

Tuesdays & Thursdays Charlestown, Palmyra, Paris, Atwater, Deerfield & Edinburg
Mondays through Fridays Kent, Ravenna, Streetsboro, Aurora, Mantua, Shalersville, Rootstown, Suffield, Randolph & Brimfield

Fixed Route Only Zone

Beginning July 1, 2018, trips that have easy access to fixed-route bus service and have pickup and drop off locations within .3 miles of a fixed route will no longer be eligible for DART service. Trips will still be eligible for DART if pickup or drop off locations are outside the 0.3-mile subject to service availability. (This does not apply to ADA complementary paratransit service)

Pricing for Dial-A-Ride Service

$4.00 per ride ($6.00 beginning July 1, 2018)

$2.00 per ride available for those who qualify for reduced fare ($3.00 beginning July 1, 2018)

Seniors (65 years of age or older), Medicare card holders, persons with disabilities or PARTA reduced fare card holders are eligible for reduced fare on fixed route and Dial-A-Ride Services. Reduced fare cards can be obtained at 2000 Summit Road or by calling 330-678-1287 with a Medicare Card or a Driver’s License. Free Transportation available for Non-Emergency Transportation Program. Includes rides to doctor, dental, hearing, pharmacy and counseling appointments for adults and children.  Click here for more information.

Free Transportation available for individuals with a DD Medicaid Waiver (including both I/O Waiver and Level One).  Medicaid allows up to 520 trips a year to employment, adult day support, vocational training.  Contact your SSA at 330-297-4100 to request PARTA as your transportation provider.  Click here for more information.  

 

Interested in Training?

Utilizing transit service for the first time can be overwhelming. PARTA has an expert travel trainer on staff who can walk you through how to book a ride and how to fully utilize our Dial-A-Ride Service. If you are interested in training call 330-678-7745 x119. Individuals who take this training will be eligible to receive 2 one-ride Dial-A-Ride tickets (upon first-time completion of the course).
