passenger in a mobility device getting onDial-A-Ride is a weekday door-to-door, shared-ride service for residents of Portage County. Transportation is provided countywide in small buses that are furnished with the staff and equipment necessary to transport all residents, including seniors and the disabled to and from their destination.

Scheduling a Dial-A-Ride

Trips are available Monday-Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (except major holidays including: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas).

If you are interested in riding, simply call 330-678-1BUS (1287). Schedulers are available Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Rides should be booked at least one to three days in advance and are taken on a first come, first serve basis. Click here to download the booking windows.

Countywide service to the Townships is done on certain days of the week, depending on where you live. Please refer to the schedule below to plan ahead your rides and appointments.

Pricing for Dial-A-Ride Service

$4.00 per ride

$2.00 per ride available for those who qualify for reduced fare

Seniors (65 years of age or older), Medicare card holders, persons with disabilities or PARTA reduced fare card holders are eligible for reduced fare on fixed route and Dial-A-Ride Services. Reduced fare cards can be obtained at 2000 Summit Road or by calling 330-678-1287 with a Medicare Card or a Driver’s License. Americans with Disabilities (ADA)

The Americans with Disabilities Act covers three groups of people:

  • People who, because of their disability, are unable to board, ride or exit an accessible vehicle that is part of the regular service;
  • People with disabilities who are able to use accessible vehicles, but accessible vehicles are not available at the time when it is needed; and
  • People who can ride accessible buses, but whose disability prevents them from getting to and from the bus stop.

Eligibility may be permanent or temporary, depending on the disability. Some individuals may be eligible only for certain trips or may qualify certain times of the year.

If you would like to use PARTA‘s ADA service, you must obtain PARTA‘s application by calling 330-678-1287 or by downloading it here.  You and your physician must complete the application in full before it can be reviewed.  If you will require a personal care attendant, let your customer service representative know or fill out the application provided here.

Interested in Training?

Utilizing transit service for the first time can be overwhelming. PARTA has an expert travel trainer on staff who can walk you through how to book a ride and how to fully utilize our Dial-A-Ride Service. If you are interested in training call 330-678-1287 x119. Individuals who take this training, will be eligible to receive 2 one-ride Dial-A-Ride tickets (upon first time completion of the course).
