Bus Fare
PARTA has a separate fare structure and methods of payment for its fixed route and Dial-A-Ride bus services. Riders of either service may qualify for a reduced fare (see below). If you have questions about purchasing fare, give us a call at 330-676-6701 or email CustService@PARTAonline.org.
Please note: All Kent State students ride free on all PARTA fixed routes with their FLASHcard with the exception of Akron and Cleveland Express Routes and Dial-A-Ride service.

There are no refunds on PARTA’s fixed route bus fare. This includes:

Funds deposited to EZfare accounts

One-trip tokens printed through an EZfare account

31-day disposable smart cards

Reloadable smart cards (the card itself or funds associated with the card)

No refunds on lost or stolen smart cards

Refunds will only be made to the original purchaser

Returns must be made within 60 days of purchase

To receive a refund on ticket booklets, the booklets must be undamaged with all ten (10) tickets attached in their original state. There are no refunds on partial booklets

Refunds for tickets purchased by check will only be issued 14 days after the date of purchase

Fees for checks returned by the bank due to Non-sufficient Funds (NSF) must be paid by purchaser

If the value of a refund is more than one hundred dollars ($100), there will be a 10% processing fee which will be withheld from the refund

Seniors (65 years of age or older), Medicare card holders, persons with disabilities, or a PARTA reduced fare card holder are eligible for reduced fare on fixed route and Dial-A-Ride services.
Reduced fare cards can be obtained at our offices at 2000 Summit Road or by calling 330-678-1287 with a Medicare card or driver’s license.
You can also download the application and mail it into PARTA at 2000 Summit Road, Kent, OH 44240.
PARTA offers a specialized service, ADA, complementing regular fixed routes. This complementary paratransit service provides transportation for people with disabilities who cannot use fixed route buses. It is available at the same time as the PARTA fixed route buses, with the pick-up location and destination no further than 3/4 of a mile from the fixed route.
Individuals who qualify for Medicaid are eligible for free medical transportation through NET (Non-Emergency Transportation) throughout Portage County.
Non-Emergency Transportation (Free Medicaid Transportation)
The Non-Emergency Transportation program is for individuals who are Medicaid eligible.
Portage County Job & Family Services provides help with securing transportation for doctor, dental, hearing, and counseling appointments (list not exclusive) for adults and children. You can request services by calling 330-297-3785 or email PORTAGE_NET@jfs.ohio.gov.
Rides are available within all of Portage County. Please request ten days prior to appointment.
Portage County JFS requires the following information prior to processing a NET request:
- Social security number of the individual with the medical appointment. All Medicaid categories are eligible except
MPAP-Medicare Premium Assistance Programs.
- Medical provider information required: name and type of medical provider, address, and telephone number of the provider, the purpose of appointment, and date and time of the appointment.
