The Gateway is centrally located in downtown Kent at the corner of E. Erie and DePeyster Streets (201 E. Erie Street). It features a multi-story parking deck and transit center providing public transportation. Travelers can park cars, charge electric vehicles, or catch the bus to local destinations all from one convenient location.
Enjoy an easy walk from the Gateway through downtown Kent to a variety of shops and restaurants. You're also just steps away from the Kent State University Esplanade leading to the center of campus.
PARTA operates regular fixed route bus service from the Gateway connecting riders to locations in Kent and Ravenna with express service to Akron and Cleveland.

Gateway Attendant Window hours:
Monday – Friday 7:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Saturday 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.*
Smart cards for fixed route bus fare and Door-to-Door tickets can be purchased during these hours.

15 Minutes to 1 hr. $1.00
1 hr. to 2 hrs. $3.00
2 hrs. to 3 hrs. $4.00
3 hrs. to 5 hrs. $5.00
5 hrs. to 8 hrs. $7.00
8 hrs. to 24 hrs.* $10.00
*24 hrs. period resets at 3 a.m.
Parking Passes
PARTA offers a wide variety of short or long term covered parking options to fit your needs. PARTA also offers an online validation system to area businesses. This system allows internet based validation of parking at the Kent Central Gateway. Make sure to ask your local business if they validate parking. *Please note NEW rate for Employee and Residential Passes as of Jan. 1, 2026.

$51.00/month (Monday-Friday)* 5:45 a.m.- 6:45 p.m. (limited quantities available)
$68.50/month (7 days a week)* Any 12 hour shift (must be associated with a business)
*Weekend access can be added for an additional $10 per month
Resident Passes
Gold Tag Covered Parking (limited quantities) $119.50/month
Black Tag Uncovered Parking (limited quantities) $95.00/month
University Pass
